Otaru Tour Boat "Aobato" and yakatabune (houseboat) "Kaiyo" will

begin operating for the season beginning April 20 2019 (sat).

Tour Boat "AOBATO"

Take a boat to the Otaru Aquarium or Herring Mansion (Shukutsu Route)

or enjoy the magnificent ocean and cliff views along the

Niseko-Shakotan-Otaru Kaigan Quasi-National Park (Otamoi Route)

Maximum Capacity : 84 persons

Shukutsu Route

One Way : Adult (13~) 800 yen (including tax)

Child (6~12) 400 yen

Child (0~6) Free *One child free for every paying adult

Duration : 20 minutes

Otamoi Route

Maximum Capacity : 68 persons

Central Otaru

Greater Otaru and Surrounding Area

Here's a quick look at the most popular route that cover's the

main attractions within walking distance, starting from JR Otaru Station.

It is a short ten-minute walk from JR Otaru Station down to the
Canal Plaza Tourist Information Center and Otaru Canal.
But before you head down, stop by the Sankaku Fish Market,
located just to the left when exiting the station.

After visiting the fish market, walk straight down the street
right in front of JR Otaru Station (Chuodori Street)
to reach the Otaru Canal.

The Otaru Aquarium is now open for its regular season!

Business Hours

March 16 (sat) - October 15 (tues) 　　　 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

October 16 (wed) - November 24 (sun)　　　9:00 am - 4:00 pm

*last entry is 30 minutes prior to closing

Night Aquarium

Extended Hours: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

(*last entry 30 minutes prior to closing)

Be sure to visit Taro, the green sea turtle who was
missing a front leg when rescued.
He was nursed back to health by aquarium veterinarians
and staff and is now swimming happily among friends.
