CANCELED: "54th Otaru Ushio Festival"


The 54th Annual Ushio Festival that was scheduled to be held on 
July 24-26, 2020, has been CANCELED due to the novel coronavirus.



Even though the festival is canceled, you can still get a sense of it from home!
You can listen to the Ushio Ondo song that is played for the festival's main event, the Ushio Nerikomi dancing parade, or you can watch people dancing together on Zoom. If you'd like, you can even learn the dance yourself by watching the
tutorial video (only in Japanese) and join one of the Zoom dance sessions!

The Former SUHARA Mansion

The Former SUHARA Mansion



This building was built by Naoji takahashi, the dealer in cereals who is famous for adzuki bean shogun in 1912.
Sotokichi Suhara ,the businessman owned in 1926 and Suhara Family donated it to Otaru City in 1986.
It was designated as a Historic Landmarks of Otaru City in 1991.

From JR Minami Otaru Station: approximately 20 minute walk

From JR Otaru Station: approximately  3 minutes by Bus
 Chuo Bus #1, #2, #3, #6, #13 or #16 and get off at "Hanazonokouenndori" bus stop, 
and 8-minute walk 



It is located to the north of Suitengu Shrine.
