Gourmet of Otaru

Hello everyone! Could you want to know what are the delicious foods.Otaru is famous of sea food ,cheese cake and buckwheat. I have eaten a lot of delicious foods with my friends in Otaru. Then I will recommend my favourite foods for you.

✩Seafood

  It is beside the port that make Otaru very delicious of seafood. Look at my photos!

Seafood in Otaru is almost raw food so you can taste fresh things here.

☞Here is the famous market in Otaru named of Sankaku Market. I have eaten delicious seafood with my friends at the restaurant Takeda in Sankaku Market.

☞Tatsumizushi is also famous in Sakai Street which is the main street of Otaru.

✩Cheese Cake

   Cheese Cake LeTAO in Otaru is very popular for Japanese. It is perfect for you to share it with your family after lunch or dinner.

✩Buckwheat

  Buckwheat set is my favourite food because it not just buckwheat but I also can taste Tenpura which is the traditional fried food in Japan. Here is a restaurant called Yabuhan near to the Otaru Station.

[MASSAN ELLIE] ❤❤International Love Story in Scotland♕♕

Welcome to HOKKAIDO.

My friends who came from China have spent their honeymoon in HOKKAIDO last month. The romantic place for your trip and love will give you a memorable recollection while you have to return to your busy daily life. 

  [MASSAN ELLIE] which is an international love story in Scotland is going to be broadcasted by NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) on Sep 29^th . Japanese hero MASSAN and Scotland heroine ELLIE spent their arduous days in Scotland and came back to Japan to set up the first whiskey factory in Japan. The characters of this romantic love story are based on Masataka Taketuru who is the founder of Nikka Whiskey and his wife. 

  The location of this drama is Yoichi in Hokkaido. Would you want to taste delicious whiskey and romantic atmosphere in Hokkaido?

Who is Otaru Ungappa?

   It is going to be cooler and cooler in Otaru.Otaru is very famous of canal, but do you know the boy who is living in the canal?His name is Ungappa.

   He is a river sprite came to Otaru Canal by himself, and then lived into here.

You can meet him when you come to Otaru at some festivals and you also can borrow the umbrella at information center when it rains suddenly. At that time Ungappa will tell you where you should return it back.(I mean you can see this card。)✩

Blue Cavern

Hello everyone! (o^ー^o)Where would you want to go in this autumn?
I have enjoyed my journey to the Blue Cavern by yacht last weekend .

Let′s go!!!  Wow～～!!!  Waves, Perfect ! 

Blue Cavern made me so curious that I could see a lot of rock of various shapes and colours.

We were also enjoying feeding seagulls when the caption stopped yacht to let us take photos on the sea.

Look there! 

That is the famous hotel named of Neuschloss Otaru which is close to Herring Mansion.

Herring Mansion was called Nishin Goten in Japanese. It is generally known that Otaru is prospered by herring, so Herring Mansion is very popular in Hokkaido.

Moreover, could you guess what this stone house is used for?

It is the house of Jizo who is a guardian deity of children and tourists.

Tourists will be protected on the journey by Jizo.

Harbor City Otaru

Otaru is a small harbor city. Canal is beautifully preserved and make Otaru a pleasant day trip. The canal is lined with stone warehouses built in the Meiji and Taisho periods (1868-1926).From dusk light from the gas streetlamps reflects gently on the surface of the canal.

Glass art and crafts→Kitaichi Glass

 Handmade glassware in Otaru are designed with ideas from the culture, history, nature, buildings of Otaru. It also has a studio which visit free to inform the processes of glass.

Music Box Museum

 Otaru Music Box Museum has a history of over a century. At that time the music box was referred to as "Orugeru" from the Dutch meaning Organ. The main building of the Music Box is also be popular of Steam Clock.

Otaru Beer

  Otaru Beer was begun in 1995.At that time Beer Culture was developed by the idea of bringing German Beer Culture to Japan. Otaru Beer opened on July 15^th ,1995. It is very popular for foreigners now.

The 10th Shukutsu Fireworks Festival

Welcome to Otaru.

Summer in Hokkaido is very short.

Let′s go to see the fireworks to enjoy this summer !

The 10^th Shukutsu Fireworks Festival will be opened on Sep 6^th .

A lot of event is going to start at PM 5:00 and firework will be set off at PM 7:00.

It becomes cooler and cooler in September.
